I agree with Limbaugh only about 25 percent of the time, but his Klaus Nomi LBGT update is very funny.

It goes back a long way, to the early days of the Limbaugh show. IIRC, Klaus Nomie died of AIDS in the early 1980's.

Limbaugh is a talentless tool. Nomi was a genius. That is all.

I don't get the Limbaugh connection beyond that he sold Nomi albums on his website.

The guy's been dead for more than 30 years.

Limbaugh whenever he does a "LBGT update" on his show its preceded by Klaus Nomi you don't own me you cant tell me not to play with other boys. Its an old dusty Springfield song. Its funny the way Nomi does it.

I don't know you can say with a straight face [no pun intended] that Nomi was genius. He was different, and he had range in a male voice that was very unusual but genius? I don't see that by a long stretch. did he write a physics book we don't know about? Before you go off the deep end and say I hate this or that, I have one of his albums on my Ipod. My wife hates his music but I heard him on Limbaugh one day and it kine of struck a chord in me. Is it going down in history as ground breaking great music? No not at all but its different and he does have a voice range for a man that is very unusual. I don't love it but I kind of like his stuff. To use it as a gay update theme is very funny though. Even is Limbaugh has said something previously that really ticks me off and plays that I have to laugh a bit.

Yet his degradation killed him. That's genius?

I don't think someones sex life makes or breaks what they accomplish in life. He was gay, flaming from what I have seen, so what? AIDS is not a gay thing. Many straight people and those who just took blood transfusion before it was known what AIDS was died. I never under stood why neo cons care whos hoho goes in whos haha. I think there are a lot of closet gays in the GOP who don't know how to deal with their feelings.

Don't call someone 'talentless' just because you disagree w/ his politics. Limbaugh is an amazing talent, especially IMO in the early years of his national show. Talk radio is a difficult art, which is why there have been so few good talk radio hosts, If it was easy, the left would have long ago come up with the long sought liberal version of Limbaugh.

The very use of the Klaus Nomi music is an example of Limbaugh's talent. Early in his career he was a rock radio DJ, and he was always great at coming up with clever theme music for his 'updates.' His 'homeless update' used a song by an old R&B guy named Clarence 'frogman' Henry. Another gay update song was "Back in the Saddle Again" by Gene Autry. The songs were carefully selected for lyrics that had unintentional double entendres/puns, and 'Back in the Saddle' was full of them. Rush dutifully reported that he got a bunch of complaints for desecrating Autry's song. Apparently some older fans did not like the visual evoked by linking 'back in the saddle' to gay news.
