1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for it, another person must work for it without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they worked for, that is the beginning of the end of any nation.
Just finished watching Atlas Shrugged did we??? Conservatives are so gullible...

Read: "An 14% effective tax rate on the wealthy is too much!!!"
The beginning of the end is when the few polarize all the money at the top and many starve. Look at the french revolution, Russian revolution ect. When the few receive money for work they have not done but make on the backs of the poor who produce its the beginning of the end. You have it bass ackwards OP.
Obviously getting to the end was averted as Russia and France are still here..
6. Wealth is not prosperity.
7. Prosperity is based on production, trade, and enjoyment of surplus usable goods and services.
8. Interfering with prosperity brings misery and suffering.
The Federal tax and spend system takes 23 to 26% of the GDP (depending on how you wish to consider deficits versus receipts). The individual State government also impose their “skim” - which vary from the highest 3: (Vermont, Hawaii, Wyoming) to the lowest 3: (New Hampshire, Texas, and South Dakota).
★ Federal spending, per capita : $12,083.0 (percentage of GDP: 24%)
★ State spending, per capita : $ 4,454.10 (percentage of GDP: 9%)
★ Local spending, per capita : $ 5,308.4 (percentage of GDP: 11%)
Summed up, combined government spending takes (approx) 44% of the GDP.
If you’re one of the donors (tax payers), you’re working 44% (or more) of your life to support “their spending habit”.
If you're one of the recipients, congratulations!
You are enjoying your benefits at the expense of others.
