Well now when people make fun of preppers they can say NASA says they're right to prepare for the end of the world.

NASA used to be cool and do stuff that was positive and made us go big and push ourselves too making history and now it is depressing and well NASA needs to go back to being inspiring and for as to what we can accomplish and go back to space or atleast let them have a budget that they can get some projects going and not sound like they need to see a doctor and need anti-depressants.

Lunar Roving Vehicle Having Fun - YouTube
NASA was better in the cost and resources needed are no issue and having no budget to follow and the time when we were motived

the budget cuts and the new emerging private sector aree where the former NASA employees are going because it something new and exciting and fun to be at the forefront of the new emerging sector that has more freedom to do something they enjoy showing up to work on not something where things have been so badly cut and they have to use their name to publish a study that sounds like it was sponsored by the makers of Zoloft and Ambien so you can not worry and get a goodnights sleep.

But when NASA has to deal with joint or muscle pain they choose #1 doctor recommend Celebrex to relives the muscle aches and pains of taking apart a project you spent your whole career on and now have to put your name on a some study you care nothing about.

They make these things called periods. ← The little dot at the end of the previous sentence. Try usIng one from time to time.

But I actually agree with you. NASA used to be a scientific organization, but has - in the last 2 or so decades - become more of a political boondoggle. The heads have been politcal appointees, with little to no scientific background, whose sole purpose is to maintain the stagnant status quo. There is no direction or motivation. The apathetic public - along with more important budget expenditures - has allowed what could have the greatest and most glorious journey of mankind lapse into mediocrity and having to thumb a damn ride into space with those Ruskies that we supposedly beat in the "space race."

NASA is a joke anymore, and taking their word on any scientfic endeavor or discussion is iffy at best anymore.

NASA studies many things (on Earth) including studying the weather, oceans, and even medicine. That report simply made observations about our planet.

We are overpopulating this planet. And at the same time we are running out of fresh water, we are loosing our top soil used in farming, our oceans are running out of fish stock, ex.ex.ex.

And at the same time global warming could raise the Earths temperature by 10 degrees in the next 100 years, and that will destroy our best farm land, and also destroy our best livestock grazing pastures. And when you mix in all the problems in the above paragraph (civilization as we know it will end when all of the above problems collide.)

The NASA report also speaks of economic problems, that will make the above problems even worse.

And at the same time 30%-50% of all plant and animal species are headed to go extinct in the near future (and we don't know how their loss will effect the web of life on Earth.)

The Extinction Crisis

Then why don't they do anything about it? Extintion crisis my butt. We find new species all the time and declare that others are going extinct all the time.

Global warming "could"..........that is what the argument is. It "could" also do nothing. Yes it will destroy everything we've heard that nonsense for quite a while yet nothing has been destroyed.

Most of the "new" species that are found are not really new, they are newly discovered species..Big difference..... As for extinctions it is estimated by experts to be between 1,000 and 10,000 times higher than the natural extinction rate.
