All that would be needed to start a telecommuting revolution would be for someone to add some words to that effect to The Talker in Chief's teleprompter.
It will never happen.
So now you need Obama to say he is in support of telecommuting?
Blah, blah. If doesn't take laws, just jawboning, which is his only skill. He never mentions it,nor does any Dem politician. Start treating companies that discourage telecommuting like smoking as it definitely contributes more unnecessary pollution, not to mention is a total waste of time and money.

So I have shown you that democrats do encourage telecommuting and Obama has encouraged it as well as signed a law to increase and promote telecommuting and you are somehow discrediting that.

Are you advocating for the president to tell companies how to run their businesses?

The "facts of rail" :
[] 20 times more energy efficient
[] Is overtaxed
[] Uses less resources
[] Hampered by politics
[] Scalable with population growth
[] Fixed routes
[] Not as convenient
[] Durable, frugal, and less polluting
....
The issue : if a society has a finite and fixed budget for transportation, it makes more sense to use the most efficient form.
....
However, in America's case, with private ownership of rail and the adversarial relationships involved, government has been instrumental in destroying electric traction rail (streetcars) and severely reducing heavy rail (ex: tracks and rolling stock subject to taxation; over regulation). Add to that the substantial subsidy of all competing forms (ex: public funded roads, air travel, and even navigable waterways!), and it is no surprise that American rail is now puny when compared to other nations or its own past.
So many of the objections thrown at rail are correct - they don't always run where you need them - but check the historical record - they might have been torn out to save on taxes, or their companies were destroyed by deliberate acts of rivals in collusion with government.
Rails do cost a lot, in terms of capital investment. But when you add up the cost for the automobile / petroleum / highway mode, the automobile is ten times worse. And in running expenses, twenty times worse. By some estimates, the "convenience" of the automobile involves 23 to 28% of the GDP. If you don't mind working 1/4 of your working life to support your addiction to your wheels, fine. But imagine if you only had to work 1/20 th of that much to support your transportation needs, under electric traction rail? What would you do with a 23% raise in spendable income?
So if you're wondering who is stifling the transition back to rail, look who stands to lose $$$$. . .
Follow the money.

(“In one extreme example, in 1959, the Great Northern Railway, which owned about a third of one percent (0.34%) of the land in Lincoln County, Montana, was assessed more than 91% of all school taxes in the county. To this day, railroads are generally taxed at a higher rate than other industries, and the rates vary greatly from state to state.”)
Reread my post. Make the companies into pariahs, like smokers. Shame them verbally as global warming enemies.
You know how the leftists do everything they oppose.
But it will never happen with this corrupt bunch.
So we should shame companies that don't offer telecommuting? That doesn't make much sense, wouldn't it be more effective to promoting telecommuting and offering incentives for companies to offer telecommuting to their employees when they can?
