And it's true, as far as it goes: The govt is NOT coming to get the guns. It is telling the gun owners to turn them in. Or destroy them.

These gun owners have already refused the govt's request to register them. How hard do you think those gun owners are going to try now, to comply with a request to turn them in or destroy them?

And when they refuse this one, then... what will the government do next?

Liberals, are you preparing your NEXT chorus of "Govt isn't coming to take your guns!"?

Better use it fast, while you still can.

Conn. officials tell gun owners to relinquish or destroy banned assault weapons

Published March 15, 2014 /
Associated Press

HARTFORD, Conn. – Connecticut officials are urging owners of now-illegal assault weapons and large capacity ammunition magazines to relinquish them to the police or make them permanently inoperable.

The Department of Emergency Services and Public Protection announced Friday it had sent a letter to owners who had failed to register the items by a Jan. 1 deadline, part of last year's gun control law. Officials offered advice on what to do now with the weapons and magazines. The letter says gun owners are in compliance with the new state law if their items are no longer in Connecticut or were sold to an authorized gun dealer
Once the normal people refuse the government's orders to turn in or destroy their guns, what will the govt do next?

The responsible thing to do, if you don't like the law, is to comply and then challenge in court, or, elect politicians who will change the law.

This is the third thread on this, BTW. Use the search feature.
You must be clueless on how things work in reality... How can you challenge something in court when the Judge is in bed with the politicians ? Seriously wake up... Well if CT wasnt filled with liberal pansies then this wouldnt be an issue .

The government will change. CT is close to the site of the Boston Tea Party so they should remember that well.

Jury nullification is a really good way to combat oppressive government.

My offer to all Connecticut gun owners still stands. Send all your banned firearms, magazines, ammo, and firearm accessories to me here in Alaska. I will take excellent care of them, exercise them requlary, and keep them clean and safe.

You can come to Alaska and visit your firearms and accessories anytime. I will even provide transportation to the range.

I thought ex post facto laws were illegal?

Lol--you obviously are not familiar with CT, or Boston for that matter. This gun fever that infects so many red states just doesn't cut it there. Why all the outrage from those who do not live in CT? Slow news day?

You mean, the ones who refused to register their guns as the Conn. govt demanded?

(Hint: They all live in Connecticut)

C'mon. I have faith in you. I really do.

I know that if you sit quietly, and try really really hard, you can figure out the answer to your own question.

Turn over legally purchased guns to be destroyed or turned over to Mexican drug lords or basically destroy our own $1000+ dollar legally purchased firearms? What would be the point after that? The damage would have already been done. You know damn well that the gun owners will not be compensated for their lose. What ever happened to you guys calling us "nuts" and "paranoid" for saying that they're coming after our guns?
