Ava Lins, a 19-year-old clerk at 7-11, started making small talk with a homeless man who came into the store last Thursday night. He told her that the homeless shelter was full and he didn’t know where he was going to sleep. She told him to take a small cup of coffee, which costs about $1.

Too bad.

I would fire her also, not her coffee to give away.......same thing as theft.

Did she pay for the cup of coffee?

If so, her philanthropy is commendable, and she deserves praise.

If not, there is a name for taking other people's things you didn't pay for. And the name doesn't change because you took them for someone else.

She only paid for it after the owner confronted her. Here's a surprise, the homeless man returned the next day seeking another free cup of coffee - which the owner also made her pay for. The owner told her not to return he next day, and I don't blame him. It is all good and fine she thinks the homeless guy needs to be helped, but she needs to do with her money, not someone else's. The owner is being painted as the bad guy in this story, when what he had was an employee who was giving away his merchandise.

It's simple to be generous with someone else's money. She could very easily have given the homeless person a dollar of her own money.

She can't do it but government can. Good intentions, bad way to go about doing it. Glad that she got the heave ho.

A democrat in the making, giving away other people's hard earned money because it makes them feel like they are "doing something"

Don't really think it is Christian to steal from one person to give to another.
