The House Judiciary Committee reported Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee, D-Texas, traveled around the world on an official trip in February that cost $23,646. The Feb. 16-22 trip on commercial flights was to Korea, Vietnam and Cambodia.

Just what the hell does America gain by spending $23K to send a congresswoman to South Korea, Vietnam, and Cambodia?
Must be a slow day for right wing news. That trip was more than a year ago.

Make connections, outsource American jobs perhaps?

Yeah, let's instead talk about the Obama's multiple vacations that the taxpayers get to foot the bill for.

There can be a heck of a lot more to gain than 23K if they negotiate trade agreements, which would be a typical topic for such trips.

It all depends on the purpose of the trip.

$23k isn't even a decent trip to Hawaii, let alone around the world. First Class airfare to Asia is $10k+ alone.

I'm more worried about her "yes" votes that cost us billions than a puny $23k.

Yet he has taken far less vacation time then Bush who take an entire year off on vacations that cost the taxpayers over a billion dollars since each round trip on air force one to crawford and back cost US taxpayers a quarter of a million dollars and he made over a 100 of those and then there was the cost of security which cost a ton as well since the path to the ranch was patrolled by helicopters etc.

The Obama admin has less staff, spends less on vacations, spends less money overall then the supposed fiscal hawk Republicans but then this true of all Democratic admins of the last 30 years.

Why aren't you complaining about the Republican yes votes that cost the US economy trillions of dollars and the Republican no votes that cost the US billions of dollars each of the bills that these Republicans killed?

I don't normally like addressing a question with another question.. but my rebuttal to this thread is very clear:

What the hell does America gain by paying our elected GOP representatives to hold 50 intentional, futile votes for the repeal of the ACA after it was made law? Tell me how much of our taxpayer money was wasted on that?

She should have stayed in Cambodia; since she's a card carrying member of the Socialist Party of America. The CPP surely would embrace her.

The Obama admin has also raised taxes, foisted an unconstitutional program (unless called a tax) on the people, has been revealed to be behind several scandals (Benghazi will eventually be the worst cover-up), and has added $800B in additional revenues this year alone; yet continues to spend nearly $500B in deficits. This is becoming an insane attempt to crash the dollar so the international banking system and WTO can take over (NWO).

Anyone who plays the party game plays into the party lies. I'm a Libertarian, but only I'll vote for whomever will do what they say they'll do. Unfortunately we haven't been given an honest candidate in years. No matter the party, whoever is put into office has been preordained by someone other than the people.
