I'd be shocked if graduating high school students couldn't type this fast. Even I had typing classes in elementary school, and this was in the 90s. Unfortunately, I can only type around 60-65 WPM but I don't think that's bad considering my generation wasn't brought up with all the advancements of computers and technology.

I'd say that's pretty good, maybe a bit above average. If we start them young, perhaps they can actually get it up into the 80s. I type inefficiently (all five with my left hand, only one finger with my right) and I seem to get up to 82wpm pretty consistently. I bet if I was trained right, it would be even higher.

Ha yea I do not type the way my teachers told me to type. I'm all over the place with my fingers, but hey, it works.

I'm 54 and type 90 wpm. Not bad given that the last 'typist' job I had was back in 1981. For me, it's like riding a bike, I haven't forgotten. I've slowed from my 100+ but still hanging in there.

Some older folks I know talk about how their parents forced them to go to the "girlie" typing class when they were younger. Turns out those parents are pretty damn smart...

I think you would be surprised to know how fast some kids can type.

My 3 year old can use our tablets and now use a mouse to select his next youtube video with the laptop. That stuff blows my mind.
