Most Independents and little-L libertarians are just Republicans who don't want to admit to being Republican. They're aware enough to know that bigotry is indefensible, but not introspective enough to stop being bigots.
I don't think that's really the case. I would say that most white independents are anti-liberal and probably vote for Republicans more often than Democrats but don't really like them. They tend not to be bigots either. Most black independents want to think for themselves but end up voting Democrat anyway. I can go on about how the Republicans have done a great job of convincing white Americans (particularly males) that Democrats are weak and therefore un-American, but that's another discussion altogether.

They aren't. Not even close. The Democrats are the most corrupt party by a mile, and they are the most hypocritical party, by a mile.
Yeh, OK, the GOP has some crazies in the tea party, and sure, Bob McDonnell got into some grey areas with ethics laws, and of course, some GOPers got caught having sex with other men while preaching an anti gay agenda (which isn't illegal btw)
But this is just the tip of the iceberg for the Democrats. 2014 is looking very grim right now. Democrats are, indeed, the worst political party.

The widespread lack of recognition of equal failures in political leadership is representative of the mindset that begets such poor leadership in the first place. This is why we collectively have the government we deserve. We should change our name to the United State of Mass Myopia.
So damn true. The reason being that those few for whom the government is working grandly, have the money and power to inflict such myopia. History tells us this is a regular occurrence, but inevitably, things get ugly for the ruling class.

Be careful with Dennis Kucinich. As the "boy mayor" of Cleveland he was quite intrumental in practically bankrupting the city. Furthermore, when they redistricted here in Ohio, and his district was disappearing he was looking at the possibility of moving to Washington and running for office there, which told me he is a career politician. Finally, he opposed with Obamacare, and spoke out in regards to his opposition, and all of a sudden he takes a little plane ride on Air Force One, and low and behold he votes to pass it. Sorry, I don't trust the man.
