I lived out in the southwest. Kids dying while being left out in the car was an almost daily occurrence because of the heat. Granted, it's not the summer yet, but most cops in that area come down hard on that behavior. After all, how many dead babies do you need to see before you have zero tolerance for that kind of action? 45 minutes is a long time.

That's fine but it doesn't make sense to jail anyone in this situation, rich or poor.

No it wasn't.

These kids are babies, 6 and 24 months.

Do you NOT assume people who leave infants in a car for nearly an hour are dumb? How many kids dying from exposure, being kidnapped, taking the car out of gear and having it roll away are Ok with you? Would you hire someone who left their infant kids in the car?

I am amazed at the number of people whom have no issues with leaving 2 babies in a locked car unattended.

More amazing are the excuses condoning this type of behavior.

It's not that people don't have issues with the kids being left in the car, it's that they have compassion for a mother who was doing the best she could and it wasn't working. This is woman who needs help, not a jail sentence.

The "mother" leaves a 2 year old and a 6 month old alone in a car, in Arizona...and idiots make excuses for her? Funny how many will attack someone that leaves a DOG alone in a car for a few minutes, but see nothing wrong with leaving babies alone in one when it's inconvenient to provide proper care for them.

Hopefully the authorities can find a responsible, caring home for the babies.

With all the money and resources spend on shelters, halfway houses, day care and other resources for single mothers I don't buy that she had no alternatives. In a city of several million, she didn't know a single person that would watch her babies for a couple hours??? Really?
