Islamic culture center with space for prayers, but of course you know that. And yes.

At the World Trade Center, they want to build a new Islamic center in a country with a tiny population of Muslims, and the Muslims are hardly active prostlytizers here.

That is quaint compared to religious terrorism in the Middle Ages.

Charlemagne had 4,500 villagers executed and their places of worship and relics destroyed at Verden in Lower Saxony, then forced the survivors to convert to the foreign, Middle Eastern religion of Christianity, and have built dozens of Christian churches and chapels built in the area since.

Seems to be an issue if the Christian Right aren't the only ones against it.

I would disagree that Muslims aren't active prostlytizers. Maybe not in the US but are certainly active.

The idea that rights extend to those you disagree with is quintessentially American. The First Amendment is law, the First Commandment isn't.

Why are you so anti-American?

I just cannot figure out what she means by "we're tired of getting pushed to the back of the bus". bunch of nuts. thank God that both the black man and the Muslim girl had cameras and were recording each other dealing with these lunatics or they probably would've lied their backsides off to make them look bad.

Islam is the second largest religion in Russia, comprising about 15% of the population, not including migrant workers.

They're even yelling at the bloody cameraman from the local news. Wonder if it's because he isn't white? Most likely. Those people are absolutely crazy.

Stupid in their bigotry, too. If they were smart they wouldn't have come right out and said what the real reason behind their protest aka bigotry was.

Absolute fools.

Still, I do find it puzzling that it takes Muslims being discriminated against to get people's attention. Case in point, Billings, Montana is very close to where I grew up. The Mormon Church wanted to build a temple there on land they already owned. You would not believe how big a stink was raised over that! Out of nowhere, there were protests against them building the thing. Mostly, I think it was other Christians who don't particularly like Mormons who were raising such a stink over it. Every excuse you can imagine to flat out refuse to let them build their temple popped up. None of it made any logical or legal sense. After a lot of drama and a lot of Montanans making themselves look like a bunch of hillbilly bigots, the Mormons were eventually told that they could build it after all. But then limits were placed on how and what they were allowed to build. It could only be one story tall and the spire couldn't be any taller than the current highest church spire in Billings. No logical reason behind all that. I think the city government just wanted to appease all the haters. The Mormons just agreed to the terms they were given and went ahead and built the thing. As I understand it, this is the same sort of thing that happens anywhere else that they want to build one of their temples. That whole scenario was just business as usual for them.

It wasn't until one month before the 2012 election that the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association scrubbed the Mormon cult page from their website.

It's a community center, and why would someone not be okay with it unless they're scared of Muslims because 911wah! and think their government is obliged to take away anything that makes them sad?
