Ellemint has a good point... do we just continue to allow human overpopulation to go on and on until there are NO animals left whatsoever because we've taken every available inch of free space on this planet ? or do we start focusing on curbing human population growth so that animals AND the humans who are already here now can continue to live together ?
And to reply to the poster above who said my post was a failure simply because what that horrid woman did was legal, frankly I don't give a flying frogs fat arse whether what she did was legal or not.
There are lots of things that are " legal" that shouldn't be. And lots of things "illegal" that likewise shouldn't be.
I wasn't consulted when these laws were made therefore it shouldn't be expected that I respect laws I don't agree with.

With your lack of conservation knowledge I see no reason anyone would ever consult you on these matters.

I wasn't consulted when the 13th Amendment to the Constitution was ratified, therefore I do not think I should be expected to respect it...
I grew up in small town Wisconsin in the 60s, and hunting was part of the culture. My dad wasn't a hunter but several of my uncles were as were many men in our town. One of my brothers took up hunting. Some of my friends were hunting by their late grade school years. Our high school had a rod and gun club. It wasn't uncommon to go into people's homes and see rifles and shotguns on a rack on the wall. Mounted deer heads were common in homes, local taverns and restaurants.
Hunting never appealed to me personally. Two events sealed the deal for me. When I was six I watched a neighbor field dress a fresh shot buck in his backyard. Suffice it to say, it's not for the squeamish. The other event was when a high school teacher and lifelong friend of our mother, was shot and killed by another hunter who didn't wait for sunrise and thought he was a deer. His son was standing next to him when it happened.
In spite of my choice not to hunt, it never occurred to me that anyone would find hunting offensive or inappropriate, and that holds true today. They aren't going to run out of deer in Wisconsin. But, if America goes all Mad Max world in the future, if you don't hunt, you might want to get to know someone who does

Abortion of human beings is legal, up to and now after live birth in some places. Does that trouble you as much as legal hunting?
