If by great event you mean "necessary precursor to eliminate the concept of health insurance in the United States, and financially destroy all private health insurers" then yes, removing the preexisting condition element was indeed great.
I mean taking the financing of health care in this country out of the Greed Sector and out of the sweaty little hands of corporate greedheads, since peoples' lives are more important than money, Captain Insane.

By 2023 we will still have 31Million non-elderly uninsured Americans and total cost will be 2.5 Trillion Dollars over that time period at a cost of 2.5 Million jobs per the CBO.
Let's just assume Obama were honest (LOL, I know)...and didn't lie...remove all of the lies he used to sell this highly inefficient and ineffective law.
Obama lies to sell this law:
-Lied about the circumstances of his own mother's death to score political points and even repeated the lie with teary eyes after he had been caught in it.
-Pass the law in the most transparent way possible with all debates live on CSPAN.
-etc...
No way he could pass this law by stating the facts at the top.
