I don't know that there is a better, more just solution. At bottom I think Americans have a rotten government because we are a rotten people, and that's something that can't be fixed by a change in institutions.
I do fervently hope for secessionist movements to prevail in order to expedite the obsolescence of the failed American experiment.
A monarchy. We should find the oldest living male heir of George Washington and offer him the title and crown his ancestor refused. Either that or we should apologize to England and ask if they'll take us back.
What would you prefer? Direct rule by the United States Military? Corporate rule? A monarchy?
I know it's cool to hate the government and all, but honestly what is a better alternative? I definitely think our government is flawed but that's because the general population is flawed.

And -- for the ten-billionth time -- each of those representatives is elected in a democratic manner, i.e. via a majority vote.
But you're right -- the Founders distrusted direct democracy, and they would be appalled at the now-widespread practice of submitting prospective laws to a vote of the people.

And for the first time, I would remind you to READ my frickin post that you replied to where I said,
