OMG this is embarrassing and outrages!!!

This President is all about fun and has no clue about managing a budget!

It is in all newspapers in Europe which shows they don't think it is normal either!!!
I'm only getting the article in German, be nice if the costs to send our President overseas was broken down rather than just a broad $1 million a night statement, i have no way of knowing whether the cost is justified or not.
Would some prefer he hitchhiked to the event and stayed in a hostel and went dumpster diving for his supper?

why should he? it makes a more powerful statement diplomatically to actually go to where a conference is being held rather than just phone it in. when you show up in person as a world leader, it makes the statement that the issue and the place is important enough for you to deal with in person. if you phone it in, it tells people that you cant be bothered to deal with a minor issue.

in diplomatic circles, perception is as important as reality.

when the president travels, i dont mind the expense, its part of being the president. would you rather he stayed at the local motel 6 instead? this is a non issue.
I doubt all of thats calculated in the total because AF1 costs something like $200K per hour to operate, and its a several hour trip, each way.. That would eat up more than $1M alone.

As I stated earlier, we dont know whats being calculated and without knowing, it really a non issue

Didnt Obama earlier in his prsidency say that people should stay home and not do things like go to Las Vegas?

As I stated, its not the fact that he went in question for me, its the hypocracy of the very people who criticized Bush, now defending Obama and Obama, do as I say, not as I do, attitude..

Let them eat cake.

Like Obama bowing to the leaders of other counties???

Not a statement in our interests.

Because he is the POTUS and running a country, not a corporate suit in an insurance company?

Why did Eric Cantor find it necessary to take 13 congress members with him to a conference in Davos, Switzerland? Why couldn't they stay home and video conference?

What other US presidents have taken a pay cut when the economy was bad? And how many of our patriotic congress members offered to take a pay cut?

Funny how Reagan, Nixon, other US presidents have always bowed to leaders in other countries whose custom required it.

George W Bush instead of bowing went into for a full tongue kiss and then held hands with the other guy and just pranced around holding his hand.

These types of rightwinger have been debunked before. The cost is no different then when George W Bush was president or Ronald Reagan.

It's about 20 to 30 rooms that are rented because it's more then the President being booked. It's the whole security staff, the support staff, etc. In other words about sixty to seven people getting rooms.

How else do you expect the One Percenters to live? Worse than the common Wall Street Robber Baron?
