St. Vladimir: The Putin Worship Continues On Fox News | News Corpse

Quote:
In the course of the discussion Lee presented a scenario that favorably juxtaposed Putin to Obama and other American leaders:

“[Putin] had people openly weeping in the crowd. I don’t remember a time when any of us have been moved to weep based on a speech about America. That actually alarms me.”

Really? Because Fox News was one of the most ardent critics of Obama’s impact on his audience. They frequently characterized him as Messianic and looped video of supporters crying, and even fainting, during his speeches. They called him a “celebrity” president and insulted voters as having been swayed by his soaring rhetoric and appeal to emotion, rather than the substance of issues and policies.
Is there no end to the hypocrisy of the ultra-cons?

And the money quote:

Quote:
Obama’s passionate oration is often belittled on Fox as theatrics, but the drama produced by Putin is seen by Foxies as powerful and patriotic. They are dripping with admiration for the Russian strongman and lament that Obama doesn’t emulate his persona and tactics. Of course, if he were to do so, Fox would turn and pounce on him for sounding like a tyrant.

Being a conservative, I don't watch Fox news anymore. If they are weeping over Dictator Putin, they are just as misled as the libs who wept over Obama.

FOX would love nothing more than a Putin running America, and the sad fact is that many conservatives/wingnuts/Teabaggers would love someone like Putin running this country as well.

Considering that conservatives have a larger fear center and like someone telling them how to think and act, someone like Putin is extremely appealing to them. They would willingly sacrifice civil rights and freedom of expression to feel "safe"

And yet if Obama were suddenly to become as "decisive" and "manly" in pursuit of his aims as they think Putin is, they wouldn't like it one bit.

Default Tears of anguish and ignorance, not joy

Fox News loves Putin because Putin is Russia's version of George Dubya Bush.

In the meantime, President Obama continues to be an exceptional President, best we've ever had.

The commie worship by FOX and the partisan right is truly shameful.

Wingnuts vacillate between Obama being a "dictator" and being "weak", it all depends on what program is on that day at FOX.
