Exactly. Slavery is absolutely wrong, but it just wasn't racial. Both Blacks and Whites were slave owners. Both Blacks and Whites were slaves. Historical fact.

The medallion doesn't mean anything to white Americans. A racist symbol that has no meaning or history or connection to people is not a racist symbol.

A racist symbol that doesn't anger, or scare, or cause reflection of how that symbol was used as a symbol of some groups oppression is not a racist symbol.

That medallion in the context of American society is utterly meaningless to nearly 100% of Americans.
These facts will not be addressed.

The belief that the enslavement of Africans wasn't about racial oppression is radical and very ignorant.

Nobody ever said that enslavement of Africans wasn't oppressive. What is being said is don't believe everything that a history book in school teaches you.

You are being very ignorant here. Wow. Nothing is ever "just" one thing. So that is a straw man position.
The reality is that the enslavement of Africans in this nation was about racial oppression. To make any other argument is to be a fool or a liar.

Yes, IC has been saying it was not about racial oppression. Please stop embarrassing yourself covering for another poster's ignorance.

No completely fairly accurate. I am not the one who believes that the enslavement of Africans in this nation wasn't about racial oppression. You do though. That belief doesn't pass elementary school level historical knowledge.

What does people ignorance and lack of historical significance have to do with it? It still implies that white people are the devil and inferior. "It's not racist because most people don't know it's racist' and oh, slavery!!111!!1".....really?

And I was saying extreme in the context that something like disagreeing with Obama got you quickly labeled a racist or worse but somehow holding a belief that whites are inferior and are the devil is somehow not an issue. And somehow pointing out the suggestive racism of Jay-Z and his medallion makes you the racist one. Typical liberal logic.

No one cares about Jay-Z and his medallion, its the hypocrisy that white people (and even minorities who strayed away from the liberal plantation) have been destroyed for far less.

"You're just mad at blacks"..............really?. Again, Typical liberal logic.

Because they can. Once wages are artificially inflated, everyone will have their hands out to get a share of the increase.

Cool. Then stop embarrassing yourself by being a hypocrite when it comes to racism? At any rate, racial oppression or not anyone with half a brain thinks that slavery was wrong, and oppression no matter how you slice it.
