How can anyone improve on the great plan Romney got the ball rolling on? Unless of course one gets government out of the health care business since costs have risen dramatically since they got involved and anyone who has been paying attention knows that is the biggest problem with our healthcare system.
Not you of course, just the ones who have been paying attention.
My rates went up less this year than the last two. Depends on the plan and company I guess. The House did pass a measure the other day, and Obama signed it. Now, that's progress. It was passed very quietly with a voice vote. Don't want the base thinking they actually want to improve the ACA.
In the story I just love Ryans idea of keeping the tax increases but cutting the subsidies. So here I am a person that leans right was never for Obamacare and I could get shafted by both parties. By Obama for giving exemptions to employers all the way up to 2015. Thanks, my employer no longer offers HC insurance and throws us into the exchange.
Then Ryan wants to take away the subsidies and with out it I can not afford to pay 546 bucks a month for insurance. Where does that leave me? totally screwed with out insurance and paying a fine. If that story is true I hope his plan never sees the light of day, I work and am older and I need HC insurance.
Sounds good to me. Instead of implementing an abysmal failure of a plan by telling the lie of the year against the wishes of the American people and ramming it through congress with reconciliation, they are taking their time. Your message has the opposite effect of what you intended - it shows the Republicans to be more thoughtful, more honest, and more concerned with efficiency and effectiveness than the Democrats.
Their reform consists of selling across state lines, and tort reform. And that's about it
Insurance firms in each state are protected from interstate competition by the federal McCarran-Ferguson Act (1945), which grants states the right to regulate health plans within their borders. Why hope Republicans would ignore health insurance lobbyists paid to keep this law in effect?
I actually take my earlier post back. They are coming up with their plan.......they just haven't decided when they will announce it and they are still 'working' on it
