I wouldn't be one bit surprised. Elija Cummings is a partisan hack. He hates the 'Tea Party.'

That's why the IRS folks treated their questioning by congress so lightly. They are guaranteed ptotection by the hughest levels of the dem administration. Only a Capone, who bought a judge, could act more confidently and flippant when under "pressure" from the justice system as these 'good soldiers'.

EC went rogue a few times because he knows the IRS criminals have protected status and his theatrical bluster will endear him to the corrupt administration headed by obama.

The only guy who actually acted as if he was on his own before congress, was the IG in the first hearing who investigated the irs and found issues.

If this IRS scandal ever gets resolved Obama will be impeached and that's not aboput to happen.

Holder has proved there is no justice today for political opposition.

If we hear the Democrats accusing Issa of a racist witch hunt we'll know Issa struck gold and Cummings is a liar. I wonder how the MSM will cover this?

Well, since True the Vote has developed a strong reputation for harrassing black people that are trying to vote...what's the problem?

Good points. We have seen how the media handles this. Try googling Matthew Meisel, a left-wing activist who was implicated as the recipient of a donor list illegally leaked by someone in the IRS, which amounted to a federal felony. which of course, was promptly ignored by Eric Holder.

If you google, you get some hits from a few right wing sites such as NRO and Human Events, but nothing from ABC, NBC, CNN, NYT, WAPO, etc.

The kindest interpretation is that perhaps the media is cowed by this admin. After all, they have to file tax returns too, and many of them are subject to FCC regs, fines, and penalties.

True Scandal | National Review Online

Any honest lib would have to admit that there is a lot of smoke here. Unfortunately that is a category few and far between.

I almost left the article at Chicago-politics-style but pulled out OSHA randomly. Her complaint about an unscheduled audit.

Catherine Engelbrecht is the founder of True the Vote, they have been involved in intimidating minority voters and worthy of attention.

The citations, released Friday evening by the U.S. Department of Labor (and
attached to this post as a PDF), show that the business was cited for
obstructions in aisles, neglect in labeling non-exit doorways that could be
mistaken for exits, failure to make sure the forklift operators wore seatbelts,
not providing employees operating a metal grinder with protective eyewear,
allowing an employee to operate a forklift without proper training and
certification, failure to install guards on rotating grinders and band saws,
failure to anchor a milling machine to the floor, creating an electrical hazard
by plugging heavy machinery and other electrical devices into portable
power strips instead of fixed wiring, and failure to label numerous
hazardous chemicals.

Of Engelbrecht’s complaint that the OSHA inspections were “unscheduled,â€
Department of Labor spokeswoman Diana Petterson responds: “it is illegal to
provide advance notice of OSHA inspections so there is no such thing as a
‘scheduled audit.’â€

Amazing, isn't it? The more one looks, the more the democrats appear to be as corrupt as a national crime gang, intent on breaking the laws in their quest for power.

Cummings, ironically, is on the panel examining the role of the democrats in the IRS scandal, yet now may be one of the democrats that helped initiate that very scandal. When the republicans gain the Senate in November, there will probably be a firestorm of revelations that unfold, which will lead directly to the White House.

Issa Accuses Cummings of Colluding with the IRS | National Review Online#!

Liberals, of course, look the other way and dismiss any illegal activity by anyone in this scandal, as they do not beleive in the rule of law, but rather embrace the notion of "enlightened leaders" who are above the law. When one is above the law, there is no reason to investigate criminal activity, as there can never be any "illegal activity" for those above the law.

Most of what True the Vote does is "maintain voter roles" which is part of the Motor Voter Law.
The check the registered voter lists (following all laws) to find dead and incarcerated on the lists.

Some might call cleaning the voter lists of the deceased, "harassing black people that are trying to vote", but that wouldn't be my first thought. Interesting that it's your first thought.

Cummings and the IRS were requesting exactly the same thing at the same time. Lists of where TTV were checking voter rolls or planning to check voter rolls - they both also wanted information about the software programs that TTV uses to check voter rolls.

Letter to Ranking Member Cummings - April 9, 2014

The real problem that Cummings has is that he vehemently denied in a previous hearing that he had done any investigation of True the Vote - that's just not true and most of them knew at the time it was not true. Cummings has been trying to shut down this entire investigation since right after it started.

We need a Special Prosecutor - there is no trust in the Administration to "investigate" anything.
I think they are all involved in it - right up to the guy who claimed on National Television that there was "not a smidgin of corruption." That pretty much says it all.

The question is, what prompted the inspection. As someone who works in a union, blue collar environment I can guarantee that OSHA could visit any shop and find numerous problems. Forklift drivers not bothering to buckle up, or passing people with a load on their forks in the air, which is not supposed to happen, but is common.

Where is your evidence that Engelbrecht has been involved in "intimidating minority voters?" If so I would be the first to condemn her, but she should be targeted for that, and not whether her forklift drivers are wearing seat-belts.

Typical lib defender. Don't address the topic but try to change it and discredit Issa.
