So they wouldn't open fire, eh?

Then what's the risk of having your wife and kids out there with you?

Maybe they should have.

I am just curious. What exactly warrants that the federal government even charge for
cattle to graze there? What have they done to the land that would warrant it, except
wanting someone to pay their bogus salaries.

And eminent domain comes to mind when you bring up recognizing property ownership.
Just because they have the power to do so, does not mean it is always right.
Why does the gov own 80 percent of NV anyway. If I was a Nevadian, I'd be pissed.

Right, I can just see just see the Occupy Wall Street protestors with AR-15's. These people should have used some common sense if they wanted to protest.

Sounds just like a protection racket to me.

Maybe they would have accomplished more? Maybe they wouldn't have been ran off from places they had every right to be. Maybe someone would have listened to their complaints. Maybe they will learn a lesson here.

The Cattleman's Association Statement.

Quote:
“In accordance with the rule of law, we must use the system set forth in our
Constitution to change those laws and regulations. Nevada Cattlemen’s
Association does not condone actions that are outside the law in which
citizens take the law into their own hands,” the group’s statement
reads.

The Nevada Cattlemen’s Association is a nonprofit trade association that was
established in 1935. The group has 567 dues-paying members who convene
annually to “review, renew and create policy for our organization,”
according to Torell. He said Bundy is not a member of the association, which
consists of cattle and sheep ranchers who hold grazing permits and pay fees
for grazing privileges on public, federal lands.

Ask Bundy. He had no problem paying the fees until 1993.

This is in no way the same thing as eminent domain. The land was never Bundy's.

They have only their Nevadian ancestors to blame.
