I have no idea how anyone can come to any other conclusion.

You apply..YOU make the first move here.
That's not saying much. Did you love every job you've ever had? Of course not. Half of this country (probably more than half) works at places they wish they didn't have to work at. Even college grads. I've never been under the assumption that most people love their jobs. I'd bet everything i own that most people DON'T!

Still though, she had a chance to reevaluate after this episode and obviously realized that IHOP sucks.

This speaks volumes about IHOP...not the server.

The hell it is!

Her motivations are irrelevant. So is whether or not she found another job. Obviously she has no fear that she can find another gig or she wouldn't have refused to take her old one back.

Come on...let's not start with the political nonsense here. You're not on the Board of Directors at IHOP so quit trying to cover for them.

It doesn't speak volumes about IHOP...nobody would argue IHOP is not an ideal job. This is common knowledge.

The girls actions speaks volumes about her trying to leverage a situation.

You trying to attribute her actions to how bad or unethical a business IHOP runs is amazing, in an awful way. lol..and you totally ignore how this girl refused to pay back a man who explicitly stated he did not want to tip her $200...

She didn't shaft a multi-billion dollar entity....she shafted a working stiff.

Nice accountability pushoff

She probably had a heart of gold. Brenda is geeked out on meth and covered in tattoos, minus most all her teeth. Just your typical foul mouthed trailer trash.

Give me the gal with a heart a gold any day.

He didn't want to tip her that amount?

The bill says otherwise. Maybe he had a change of heart later on when he either realized that he couldn't afford it or later on realized that it was easier to stiff her out of the tip from afar.

Besides, if she's so bad, why are they offering her the gig back?

Maybe he was drunk...who knows..and maybe she saw he was drunk out of his gourd and shook him down? We can play "what if" all day.... This is what we do know...he disputed the charge.

Because of media pressure...?? Maybe they are worried about the political pressures that will soon undoubtedly get involved? .I guarantee you that she does not want that job back in no way whatsoever because they will be sure to fire her through foolproof channels.

They will make it miserable for her...and rightfully so.

No where in the article does the man deny he wrote what was on the bill. Just that he made a mistake.

Nobody's perfect, but people need to be careful when signing a check. Cross out wrong amounts, be sure to total it up, and take a second to glance at it. At the bottom where it says " I agree to pay the above amount" it's pretty clear you should make sure it's close to right when writing it out.

If she found a new job which possibly paid more, or decided to possibly collect unemployment all summer, why would she take the old job back?

I still maintain it's a crappy chain and a crappy boss along with personal experiences.

Lets be fair, the girl isnt wrong either. The man left a $200 tip, even if he now says it wasnt on purpose.
