If a Russian destroyer was parked off the US coast we'd, at least, buzz it also. I can't believe anyone is serious when they say we should have shot it down.
Yeah, nothing insane about starting a nuclear war and killing all life on Earth over a jet buzzing a destroyer.
There's nothing sane about a liberal who thinks a nuclear war would be started over a fighter being shot out of the sky. More emotional blabber for the know-nothings.
This was a taunt....the clear purpose being to expose a weak US President. Why else would it be done? On the world stage, this actually means something. But to liberals? The sooner they can change the subject, the better.
It will get much more exciting as Putin testes the Will or lack of it. The Captain was probably order to not engage of even fire a warning burst. The rules of engagement are most likely very thought out from the White House.
Its almost like the Cuban Missile Crisis when our DD (Destroyer ) Shot a warning shot over the bow of the Russian Freighter and JFK then directly communicated directly with that Captain.

Being goaded into shooting at an aircraft that is not shooting at you is how a wingnut would react. Thank God the Bush-Cheney era went down in flames in Iraq. Let's hope that our government learned some hard lessons from that debacle.
