Bush used to be a cokehead. That doesn't constitute as a "druggie" in your warped mind?
Yes, he spend his fair share .. the republicans have become the democrats, and the democrats have become the socialist communists. The tea party is the real republican party today.
Yes, the liberals put a druggie in the White House.
That is one example. I'm no fan of him, or his policies of expanding the federal government. However; let's not forget some of the most influential people in the history of the world indulged in cannabis, including some of the forefathers, who were indeed some of the most intelligent individuals of their time. Seceding from England, and drafting the US Constitution a timeless document is evidence of that.
Furthermore, it is not up to you, the government, nor anyone else what an adult eats, drinks, or smokes.
So MJ modifies brain chemistry. Alcohol simply destroys brain cells. Do really think the users don't know that?
I think the problem is MJ's modifications reduce striving, competition and greed. It is very hard to manipulate and exploit people that no longer care about all the wonderful (false) rewards offered for playing the greed game. The owners hate it when people stop playing the game and just take care of themselves and their friends instead of working for an owner's profit.
This study wasn't about medical marijuana use, it was about recreational use in 18 -25 years olds, 11 joints a week being the mean. 11 joints may seem excessive to some, but I see it a lot. Within that age group, the same excessive use of alcohol goes on too. Even so, most of them morph into a little moderation and turn out okay. I'm far more concerned about the 14 - 18 year olds. The kids that I knew who smoked dope in high school, then continued smoking frequently, are absolute total morons. While most middle age and older medical marijuana patients function just fine. So yes, I think it does effect developing organs.
If you look at the source of the funding on this story (I had to find several versions from different "news" sources to find it), the study was funded by the NIDA, aka The National Institute on Drug Abuse. This national organization is tasked with funding negative studies on illegal drugs. One of their goals is prevention, as in preventing people from using any illegal drug. They consider all use to be abuse. They have 40 million to spend on "research" like this for 2014.
And guess how much funding they would have if the ever said an illegal drug could have health benefits?
At least Beaconowner and others know the truth.
Just more propaganda for the prohibitionist crowd who want to control other people's personal lives. Stories like this is their Kool Aid.
