Yep. Reagan would be called a "RINO" if he were alive and active in politics today.

Still, the hilarity continues as the leftist Democrat fanatics bend over backward trying to pretend they aren't leftist Democrat fanatics.
That's nothing compared to the mental gymnastics needed to pretend slavery was a leftist institution.

Good old quote mining. Kinda fun, but ineffective as argumentation.

When both parties run with the same policy, do we really have 2 different parties?

Gun-Control Quotes: Obama, Feinstein, or Reagan? -- Daily Intelligencer
It is true that Reagan was not very good on the gun issue, which is ironic considering that he once prevented a mugging with his gun, which he had stupidly left unloaded.
Reagan Was Hero To Iowa Woman | KCCI Home - KCCI Home

But we are all stupid at times. The 2nd amendment debate in the time of Reagan was not what it is now. Scholarship persuaded even liberal law prof Lawrence Tribe to change his mind on the 2nd Amendment around 2000, well after Reagan had left the scene.

FDR and JFK were not very good on race relations either. Remember that Cointelpro and the bugging of MLK Jr. happened under JFK. We are all stupid at times.

Lincoln was a socialist sympathizer, you don't even understand the quote you posted. You think he wasn't thinking about Capitalists and Robber Barons when he said "It is the same spirit that says, 'You work and toil and earn bread, and I'll eat it.'"?

Slavery cannot happen without an active government. Government has always been the driving force behind slavery.

Since we associate the left with active, powerful government you are wrong.

Thomas Jefferson was a slaveholder, and Andrew Jackson despised the Cherokee. Maybe it was best that the Democrats left those attitudes behind with those that held them.
