A three inch knife isn't what sensible people would consider a weapon and it was in his car, his private property, not in his clothing.

Hey, don't be sexist! They have a girls softball team that also uses bats. Equal opportunity! And what about the science geeks? You ever see the stuff they have in science class?

Among the clips are reviews of video games and merchandise, home defense tactics, and an interview with a local police officer."

Also--"And what did they find inside Wiser’s vehicle? A folding blade pocketknife, a stun gun and two Airsoft guns."

Weapon on school property is a misdemeanor. Weapons in the school is a felony.

I was talking with someone last week about a class project I made in wood shop 30 years ago..

I made a wooden sword... The subject came up because I still own it.

Now I'd be branded a domestic terrororists for making a classroom project.

He didin't bring a weapon onto school property, it was a pocket knife, a common tool that normal people have carried for centuries. The tire iron in the truck is more of a weapon than a 3" pocket knife.

It's sad that what used to be common and common knowledge is now twisted and perverted by a certain segment of the public.

I bet scissors will be next. Then staplers, shoe laces (strangling hazard), shoes (could kick someone), neckties (suicidal hanging)... The possibilities are endless for a zealous prosecutor.

The young man did not go to jail for breaking school rules. No, nope, nyet. Some other law(s) was/were broken. The worst the school could do is expel. And oh, there is that little matter of the gun, too.
