The moral standpoint being: that Obama should have been forthcoming from the very beginning. Would have been so much better. Just tell the people the truth from the beginning.

Not promise them many times over, if you like your current health care plan you can keep it, if you love your Doctor, you can keep him. Never said many of you are now going to have higher deductibles and premiums. Because so many do now pay so much more in deductibles and their premiums. NOW having a health care plan, that is lesser in quality then the care they had previously.

How is that I ask you better then what they had, tell me this please.

Obama would suit himself better if when he talked he saw himself thru a camera lens.

Why are so many families premiums skyrocketing, when they had a decent health care plan. That was not part of the plan, for this health care plan was if you all remember suppose to be affordable. How long did he say affordable. A long time, till he no longer could say affordable, for too many families were now finding out the truth of the matter. Why , did their deductibles go up, and why are some families paying double and triple in premiums.

They'd be even higher if the employer mandates were allowed to kick in..

millions more would have lost their employer based insurance just so these liberal kooks can toute them joining the exchange and signing up for welfare.

its like trading in your brand new BWM for a UGO and thinking you somehow came out ahead..

I'd like to see the numbers for how many of these 8 million were signing up for Medicaid. Then I'd like to see the total amount in US taxpayer dollars, for all those who are being subsidized.

The 8 million are the exchange numbers (does not include Medicaid)

Medicaid numbers are easy to get. Around 3.5 million give or take newly insured.

What no one knows is how many "newly insured" are on the exchanges. According to people who support the ACA. They are counting people who switch insurance on December 31 2013 to an ACA exchange plan as being "newly insured". ACA proponents keep on coming up with newer techniques to pumps up the numbers. But other reports have newly insured on the exchanges around 1.5 million.

As for how much money is being spent. Again the numbers are always changing. Supposedly it's only costing 35 billion this year. But they said they weren't going to count salaries of all those irs agents they have to hire. They also said they aren't counting costs like the healthcare.gov website that's about 5-6 times over budget. That doesn't count as money being spent.

And they also claim they are "saving 100 billion over 10 years than projected". Supposedly it was suppose to cost 1.4 trillion over 10 years. Now it's going to cost 1.3 trillion. But they make no reference to the original cost of 900 billion. So it's either "saving 100 billion from newer projection". Or it's costing 500 billion more when the law was passed in 2010.

As I said, people can only view it through a political lens.

You know what stories aren't being reported on? The stories where families are getting access to health care for certain conditions they never could have before, and the families who are actually saving hundreds or thousands of dollars. Yeah, they exist too.

Let's be frank, most of the health care policies that were canceled were akin to what you get from paying $50 a month from having a full time job at a basic retail employer. Yeah, it's health coverage, but if you ever have to use it you'll end up paying for almost everything out of pocket and you'll find out very quickly just how limited that cheap coverage is. They were garbage plans.

That's just more red herrings, stereotypes and talking points. Of course some people made out like bandits here, free stuff paid for by taxpayers does that.

They could have just expanded government subsidized health insurance for a few million "families getting access to health care for certain conditions they never could have before" or designed rule changes for people with preexisting condition, without screwing it all up for the rest of us.

It's a terrible law, an ineptly executed and administered law, and a very expensive, complicated, and unworkable law.

The only thing that Obama has been truthful on is that the cost of utilities and energy would necessarily go up. Quite ironic that he manages to keep the bad promises.

Thats not true. The medicaid applications went through the exchange as well. All applications went through the exchange and then if you qualified for medicaid they forwarded your application to the states, if you didnt, then you were asked to pick a plan and qualify for subsidies.
