Let's face the facts! Saudi is NOT a pleasant country and has TONS of human rights issues that are perpetrated by its current governing system - the link up between the Saudi Royal Family and Wahhabi-indoctrinated clerics. They range from the fairly widespread mistreatment of migrant workers of various kinds, the refusal to allow religious practices that are is not the Wahhabi kind of Islam, their outright refusal (or strong reluctance) to give women even at least a quarter of the legal rights women in the West take for granted, their history of funding and supporting the Wahhabi doctrine (which fertilizes the ground for militant movements) in other Muslim-majority countries, as well as violently intervening in neighboring countries (like Bahrain) when they attempted spring-type uprising earlier this decade just to name a few.

With an ally with a track record like this, some people can't help but notice a double standard in the way Western countries (US, et al) conduct their foreign policy, and find themselves irritated by this! It becomes even more irritating to many right-thinking people when the said countries always talk about "promoting democracy" and "respecting human rights" and are quick to point these out to less-than-friendly countries, BUT ignore it totally when dealing with countries they favor!

Anyway, people of this forum, how would you people personally react if you found out one day that the regime comprised of the Saudi Royal Family and their Wahhabi cleric supporters were overthrown in the same manner regimes like Mubarak's or Gaddafi's were? Let me know what you think and why! Thanks!

Al Queda & it's allies ARE the Saudis. It's their proxy army that they sent to Iraq (Foreign Insurgents), Libya (Rebels) & Syria (Rebels). Now the US is using them as well in a de facto kind of way. Each time you hear of the US backing Al Queda, Muslim Brotherhood or Foreign Insurgents in these countries, just think "Saudis". 19 of the 22 hijackers on 9/11 were Saudis. Bin Laden was a Saudi. The CIA reported that the majority of the bankroll for Al Queda comes from Saudis. The CIA also reported that there were more Saudi "foreign insurgents" in Iraq than all other nations combined. I'd be very happy if the royal family was overthrown, but not way do Bush or Obama let that happen.

Al Qaeda chiefly consists of Saudi nationals, but that doesn't mean they wouldn't overthrow the monarchy if they could. That's kind a big reason for them coming to exist!

But as they would the likely beneficiaries, if not the actual engineers, of any ouster of the monarchy, I'd be a little alarmed if the monarchy fell.

I'm glad you're someone who doesn't take things at face value, and works at digging deeper in finding out the truth about things....

Anyway, I'm pretty convinced many millions worldwide will be with you in rejoicing if/when this does happen....
