Bush may have supported this but it goes back to Al Gore and in this case you can actually blame him specifically because it was his tie breaking vote cast in the Senate as Vice President that first implemented ethanol mandates.

Gov scam. Ethanol is a joke makes all our food prices higher. Grassley and Villy should be run out of office. Of course Tommy boy was appointed by the big dog. He is safe.

Reminds me of a business owner I knew who thought the same thing. Rather than discard the solvents he used in his business properly he just threw them around back and down the drain. According to the state environmental agency, his actions caused some harm to the local water supply in the area, but no worries, it wasn't any water I drank! I guess he considered himself a "good enviro" as well.
