The only reason to leave the law on the books is in case of rapes....it could add additional charges.....not to be the bedroom police.

Why would you want or need additional charges? If someone is guilty of rape, they should be charged with rape, period.

In consideration of how dearly homosexuals are hated in Oklahoma, legislators there want to keep all anti-sodomy laws on the books, so they will already be there waiting to be enforced should the U. S. Supreme Court ever decide to change its mind and declare anti-sodomy laws constitutional. Besides, some legislators are church pastors, and so they could get thrown out of church from voting to repeal anti-sodomy laws. Oklahomans still think the world of their preachers, even though one Tulsa Baptist preacher, who preached anti-gay sermons, sneaked down to Oklahoma City and got arrested by an undercover officer for soliciting for gay sex in the parking lot of an all gay hotel.

These states are being silly. They technically have a law on the books that have no force or legitimacy and cannot be cited. It's like a last ditch childish way to "save face."
Hmmm ... ever hear of 'States Rights'? 9 folks get to usurp the 10 amendment. I guess individuality means nothing to you. Betcha loved Orwell's book.

Why is it the government's business (state or federal) what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own homes?

All states have dumb laws on the books. That doesn't mean they enforce them, but they don't take the legislative effort to remove them.

Dumb Laws in United States. Crazy United States Laws. We have weird laws, strange laws, and just plain crazy laws!

Maybe not. If these laws are null and void, then why waste time repealing them?

The more counts you have the more the judge/jury has to work with....and sometimes more time in prison can be given.

Not everyone takes it for granted that that is a good thing to aim for in the first place; above all if it requires the application of immoral and unconstitutional statutes.

If the penalties for rape are unsatisfactory, we ought to deal with that separately.
