The iconic horse-drawn carriage ride through Central Park has been a part of New York City for almost 160 years.

But now, new Mayor Bill de Blasio has vowed to ban them in the city saying they are inhumane.

He wants to replace them with a fleet of vintage electric cars but supporters of the carriages are fighting to save them.

Horses should be given the right to vote, it's the humane thing to do!

What does DeIdiot and his supporters think the owners of these horses will do when they can no longer earn a living with them?

Providing the horses are looked after I don't see the problem. Indeed a lot of the tours were through areas such as Central Park and they added a bit of charm to NYC. I will be sad to see them replaced by electric cars.

I agree with this. So long as the horses are taken care of, what is the issue? When my wife and I visited NYC we took one of those horse drawn carriage rides through Central Park. Even for a cold day, it was still quite charming.

Yet DeBlasio has no problem with police using horses as vehicles.

The problem is the horses aren't properly taken care of. Figured this ban would finally be coming.

Says who? I suppose ending the careers of the horses and sending them to the glue factory is more humane.
This is more animals over people nonsense and I wouldn't be surprised if deblasio has a connection ($) to the electric car concerns he is looking to replace the carriages with.
