The state of Texas has strict rules about how to handle dangerous heat on pig farms; not so in their non-air-conditioned prisons, where 14 inmates have reportedly died of heat exposure since 2007. A new report says the state is doing nothing to address the issue.
Hope the prisons are sued. We can't let the uncivilized rubes of America take over. They're the same types who cheer at the idea of letting people die on the street if they don't have health insurance. Barbarians, basically.
Perhaps Texas should ship all their prisoners to one of the bleeding heart states...
The way is should be, the state should do absolutely nothing for prisoner comfort.
You're the ones who want to lock everyone up and throw away the key so it's only just you be forced to pay for the choices you make. Also we're not talking about "prisoner comforts"; we're talking about conditions which don't kill people. Yes, you will lose in court, yes, you will be forced to make the needed improvements so that conditions no longer kill people, and, yes, the tax payers of Texas will be on the hook to pay tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars in wrongful death cases. You're just being stupid but, I guess, that's the default position for most conservatives.

Poo-poo to your heart's content but Texan taxpayers will still pay so, as usual, conservatives are being penny wise and pound foolish. That's par for the course though.
