"Significant" is a relative term. I notice you don't dispute the fact that sea levels are in fact rising. That's good, since it is an irrefutable fact and stating otherwise would make you look like extremely bad.

It's also a serious enough concern that government and scholars are working together to address the issue.

Pinellas beginning to assess risks of sea-level rise

Hmmm...who should we believe. The highly educated scientists with things like satellite imagery at their disposal or the layman who has been "visiting the ocean for 40 years".

Tough call.

Hmmm...who should we believe. The highly educated scientists with a liberal agenda. Or the layman who visits the ocean and gets to foot the bill for said agenda?

There, fixed it for ya.

And yet the federal government still invests in coast property.

Who should we believe?

Ahh yes, the liberal agenda boogeyman. I'll just sit here and wait for a conservative scientist to come along and debunk the peer reviewed literate and statistics that show rising sea levels.

I won't hold my breath considering that the climate change deniers have had to resort to pulling scientists from other fields unrelated to climatology to attempt to discredit the science.

And I guess I'm a little confused here. Are you saying that the layman with a vested interest in the matter should be trusted over the scientists? That seems like a resoundingly stupid idea, but I have you trumped none the less. I'd simply refer you to one of my professors (a geophysicist) who happens to live in one of the areas that would be impacted. I'm sure she would be happy to tell you about the rising sea levels.
