...but I don't think conservative (nor librul) politicians (scotus judges included) can be trusted to preserve the original intents of the founding fathers.

Supreme Court gives police new power to rely on anonymous tips | 89.3 KPCC

Quote:
The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police can stop and search a driver based solely on an anonymous 911 tip.

The 5-4 decision split the court's two most conservative justices, with Justice Clarence Thomas writing for the majority and Justice Antonin Scalia penning the dissent.

Conservatism is a defunct ideology to begin with.

The Founding Fathers created the greatest government of their time. However, they weren't brilliant and the constitution isn't some biblical document. It has its head-scratchers and embarrassments.

Even still, this ruling isn't something to be up and arms about. It could be abused, sure. However, it can be an asset to law-enforcement. If someone phones 911 and gives a vehicle description and plate number, the cops should be able to pull over said vehicle, no?

Based on your article, "The U.S. Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police can stop and search a driver based solely on an anonymous 911 tip."

Oh great. I better make sure I don't have too many enemies.

A couple days ago we had a story on a Supreme Court ruling concerning not allowing suspected illegal assets to be used to pay one's lawyers fee's. We had people jumping all over the ruling until it was explained beyond the one case where the complaints seemed to die out. Here I feel we have the same thing.

911 call: Please help me, my boyfriend was just shot by some guy driving by. I don't have any idea who it was, please come quick.

911 call: (anonymous) I believe I know someone involved in a shooting........no, I will not give my name but he probably can be found driving a maroon Mustang with a crunched front fender in the vicinity of 55th st.

Now if a cop is in the vicinity of 55th st and see's a Maroon Mustang with a crunched fender he shouldn't be able to pull them over?

Name a law or ruling in history that cannot be abused.

Name a test that can't be cheated.

(Don't worry I'll wait)

....human nature.
