4 year degree or trade school 2 yr degree? I have 1 guy on staff that has 2 yr degree (electrician) and he is the lowest paid guy in the plant. He'll come up fast because he bust butt! The rest of us make anywhere from 70 to 120 k with nothing more the a boiler license...

Now you're going to hear of someone . When I was 24 I moved out of my parents custom built home that sits on a hill with a view of the whole city, vanishing edge pool and Jacuzzi, and a bunch of land to ride our quads and other toys. I only moved out because I was recently married and expecting my first child. I was moving because I thought that was the "normal" thing to do when starting a family. We have rented our own home now for 6 years. And now at 30, my husband, myself and two kids are moving back. We can afford to live on our own but they have a badass house so why not?!

I agree to a certain extent considering my father's case; he's a machinist at a railroad company and he gets paid 63,000 a year, though it can go as high as 81,000 in some years when he works over time. However, my father started off as a laborer and after 3 years he was allowed to become an apprentice and trained for 3 years at the company before becoming a machinist. Alhough, as I mentioned in another forum you can't expect people to go into a job that doesn't interest them or will make them miserable despite the money they can make. At the same time people should be more wise in choosing a degree and picking one they know will be in demand so they don't have as much issues finding a job and so they can also get paid a bit more.
