Why is the Biblical definition the one a secular society should abide by though? Their marriage won't be recognized by a church, but for civil purposes it's easier to just put everything under "marriage law"

In Matthew 19:4-5, Jesus reaffirms this: "He answered, ‘Have you not read that he who made them from the beginning made them male and female,’ and said, ‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one’?"

They are LBGT folkes, so is it legal? Yes I know. It does not matter because they are LGBT.
Just a notch above Beastiality.

I feel sorry for the child if it lives.

If marriage has nothing to do with religion then just use the term, "civil union". But that's not good enough for gay people. That's what it is, right? Oh, but there is significance to the word, marriage, you might say. That's because it has a religious foundation.

The push for gay marriage doesn't have so much to do with the act of legalizing marriage. It is about forcing society and government to recognize homosexuality as something natural and normal.

So yea, that affects everyone in society.

What's the difference between a civil marriage and a civil union?

Marriage itself isn't a religious word. Civil marriage is a legal license.

As for the differences, this should answer your question.

Yep... what a surprise!! Two married to share benefits certainly. The actual marriage itself is about as meaningless as vows were to those wife swapping swingers in the 60s/70s. The definition of perversion is slowly being altered to be something acceptable. I guess this is progress?

How? In what way does people no longer getting hung or jailed for being gay have a negative effect on you? Or any effect at all, for that matter. I support gay marriage not because it has a positive effect on me but because it will make other people's lives better

Why do you think Christians own the word marriage? There's always been marriage in non-Judeo-Christian societies. Should two Hindus or Atheists call their marriage a civil union?
