99% of them don't even come close to doing this however.
The (almost) $30k in deductions/exemptions (for a family of 4) is automatic. No itemization required.
Which means that if your gross household income is in that range you pay no fed income tax. Of course, those making more than that don't pay fed taxes on that amount either.

Really? Go ahead and prove it since you're making the claim. Seriously.
Let's not forget that, on top all of those deductions they are getting that I"m not, I am also paying thousands in property taxes each year (forever), a healthy chunk of which pays for they kiddies' education. It doesn't all go toward streets and fire departments, etc. Not only should they NOT get those income tax breaks, they should pay MORE in property taxes if they have a child in public school.

Well, $3900 (for each dependent) X 4 = $15,600. Standard deduction (not itemizing) is $13,100 (I think, could be more). And $15,600 + $13,100 (at least) is = $28,700 (at least). Which, you have to admit, is close to $30k.

Hey so are they! AND OMG they even paid it so that when you were a child, that if needed YOU could go to school too!
Please, im not sure where your misplaced envy is there-but raising kids is not cheap or always fun, and you were once a child too. So consider it you paying back the cost of your schooling.

So...you make up numbers?
Standard deduction was 12,200 last year I believe NOT 13,100-which you listed as (at least). Then 3,900 for you and your wife. then 3,900 for each kid. So 27,800...for 4 people.
So lets say you, your wife, and another married couple live together....total deduct there is 24,400 for the standards, PLUS the 15.6K so 40K!
Those people with kids are getting hosed. Those 4 people get a combined deduct of 40K! the married couple with 2 kids only gets 27.8K!

Yes, you are right about the $12,200 I was basing it on mine which is actually $14,600 now but $13,100 last year.
The 3900 stands. I'm talking about a family, nothing else. So, $27,800 still close to $30k.
I'm not so sure about the 2 married couples living together. If each couple filed separately, whats your point? You could just as well combine your deduct with your next door neighbor and get the same results.

My point is every single human being gets these deducts. you're comparing a 4 person group....I compared it to another 4 person group.
Your argument is that kids shouldnt get a deduct like every other human being? that those kids should be punished?
My wife has no income, I STILL get a 3,900 deduct for her. Just like the kids.
The article is BS... I can't believe all of you can't even find the problem...
If you are going to compare apples to apples... it would be
TWO single people making 100k each vs TWO married people making 100k each... then you KNOW what the marriage penalty is... You cannot compare ONE single person making 100k and TWO married people making 50k each... Liberal FAIL...

You missed the part where it appears the article that did as you described isn't a liberal article......
