She was a "bad choice" as a US Supreme Court Justice - anyone would be a "bad choice" that had 6 cases go to the US Supreme Court and have 4 of those cases Overturned (the Ricci case was before the Supreme Court when Sotomayor was nominated & expected to be overturned). Her judgement was already proven to be poor. She is a disgrace.

Yet another bad Obama decision. Can anyone really say they're surprised?
What was Sotomayer's need to bring her ethnicity/gender into her statement or to mention white males in a negative way? Come on, we weren't born yesterday.
And I'd love to see more people of color on the SC.
I often hear this from people who believe that people of one race will decide things differently from people of another race.
People who believe that are racist bigots, of course. They are afraid of those who will decide legal cases simply on the merits.
I wouldn't care if everyone on the Court was black. Or if everyone on the Court was white. Or latino. or male, or female, or etc.
I would care if they thought government's role was to redress ancient wrongs, when it's not. Or if they thought govt could legally tilt the playing field to favor one group over another. Or if they thought people's property rights could be disregarded willy-nilly. Or if they thought the Constitution meant something other than what it clearly says.
Can you imagine the uproar if a white male judge had said that he could make a better decision than a Latina?
As a matter of fact ... I can't.
