This was a tough choice for me in the poll, The prior president went crazy with them, and if Obama was doing stuff like that I'd say we need to ban them, but so far they've been pretty normal usages of the executive orders.

I am concerned that now that one president showed how to abuse them, that a future one might, which makes me lean a bit towards saying they should be banned.

Of course it should be banned entirely. How on earth can America call itself a democracy/republic if only one man can make or break the rules?

Only in the extremely unlikely event that a Republican ever gets elected to the White House again.
You don't have to worry about it when a Republican gets elected again.

We have the ability to effectively use Congress. We don't need to do Executive Orders.

I agree the Executive Order is reserved for special events, not to drive a Political Machine!

I am absolutely mystified as to why someone would bother to vote for a presidential candidate and then remove the means for the electee to do the job.

EOs are not reserved for special events. They are how the president interacts with federal agencies, which is a necessary function for the designated chief executive of the executive branch. Ever get a memo from your boss telling you what the direction of your company is? That is exactly what an EO is. Maybe you should read about them and what they are for -

Presidential Executive Order Definition and Examples

Congress can - and does - overrule an EO, if they feel that a particular EO is a step too far.

Seems to me that removing the power of a president to serve as chief executive of the executive branch would require a Constitutional change. No mater what you vote in this poll, it will simply not happen. Because people run for president because they have things they want to get done. And we vote for a particular candidate because we agree with that agenda. Otherwise, why bother?
