Nonsense of course. The federales do own the land. So a claim they cannot is obviously wrong.

And the clause cited deals with acquisition not maintaining ownership.

It is not a military port, nor a military base. The claim is, it is unconstitutional. Not that they can't.
Many unconstitutional things are done, so anyone can do anything they want until they are stopped(Bundy Ranch)

The clause in question says...

and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock-Yards, and other needful Buildings;--

Says nothing about places acquired by the federals through diplomacy or force of arms. Particular in the State of Nevada the land was acquired before the state existed.

Neither party is willing to address illegal immigration, this administration has deported record numbers. What does that have to do with the discussion on BLM??

The administration has admitted they moved the line to make it appear that they have deported record numbers.

Obama's deportation record: inside the numbers - CNN.com

But you are right that neither party is really much different here.
