So, some people want these labels on all processed foods made entirely or partially with genetic engineering:

"partially produced with genetic engineering"
"may be produced with genetic engineering"
I don't understand the value of labels that tell consumers something they already know, given that it is generally accepted that around 80 percent of all crops in the United States are grown with genetically engineered seeds.
I also don't know why they don't seem to mind that "conventional" produce doesn't have a label on it that says "produced through the use of pesticides."
They just buy the ones labeled "organic." No problem, right?

And this means it shouldn't be labeled? Safe or not, people should be able to know what they're purchasing. And hey, if it's safer than organic, then that's even more of a reason to label it. People will know which product is safer, right?
Also, don't use fresh manure. This will decrease the risk of contamination. ALSO, use it in the fall and spring to bring nutrients to the soil. Don't use it once things have been planted. There are plenty of ways to farm organically with manure without doing too much damage.
GMO foods are also not completely resistant. How many times have we hear of beef spreading E. coli? Plenty. GMO food are also sprayed with extremely toxic pesticides, and if you've ever seen it being applied, those doing the spraying have to wear protective suits. I'm not expert, but I can't imagine running your apple under water is going to completely remove whatever it is that is sprayed onto the food. Would you eat an apple that was dropped into a bucket of bleach then rinsed off? Because I wouldn't.
I am most certainly NOT here to attack organic produce.

Wowza....I only use my sheep manure prior to planting since sheep tend to pass fewer seeds than all other animals. My 2 sheep eat my grass, clear the garden and eat then poop/pee green. Hmmm? What goes in comes out the same? I don't even allow bug spray on a person on my property. (oops I'm in VT) Yes, we're the largest farm to table movement.
Yet, there are trials of rice being grown in the midwest containing human DNA? Which bothers you more? No, not all food that is not "played with" is organic. Marketing ploy.
