" A federal judge struck down Wisconsin’s voter identification law on Tuesday, saying the measure places unnecessary burden on poor and minority voters, court documents showed.
U.S. District Judge Lynn Adelman wrote in the ruling that the law could have a disproportionate impact on such voters because of the costs some of them might incur in obtaining a photo ID, if they did not already have one, according to online court documents.
Minorities in Wisconsin are disproportionately likely to live in poverty and those who live in poverty are less likely to drive or participate in other activities such as banking and traveling, in which a photo ID is required, Adelman wrote in his ruling."
Curious why these federal judges are ignoring Crawford v. Marion County when making decisions on Voter ID. These same arguments were presented there and SCOTUS decided in favor of Voter ID. Perhaps the articles aren't complete because generally case law settles an argument and federal judges do not tend to overrule SCOTUS.

One day, perhaps minorities will stand up and demand they not be used as ignorant, incapable pawns.
Apparently, minorities are still considered by Democrats, liberals, and the courts as still needing their collective hands held by the government. Minorities apparently can't do anything without help. Getting an ID is beyond their collective abilities. They must be stupid, right? Democrats must provide them help because they can't do it own their own. How else can it be interpreted?
I don't see why minorities put up with that crap. I guess the perpetually-aggrieved cannot be cured and will always need someone to tell them how bad life is for them. The Democratic way, through and through.

I, on the other hand, think everyone should be given equal opportunity to vote.

Maybe the District Court was following the example of SCOTUS, by ignoring judicial precident. The current right-leaning activist court seems to be overturning established precident ... over, and over, and over again.

The only thing that we do have in this state is we have long lines of people who want to vote. And it seems to me that we should be doing everything we can to make it easier, to help these people get their votes counted. And that we should be pitching as political parties our ideas for improving things in the future, rather than mucking around in the mechanics and making it more confrontational at the voting sites and trying to suppress the vote.
