The Padres? Racist.

Vikings? C'mon, all of us with Norwegian heritage should be protesting. The great warriors NEVER wore horns on their heads.

Straw men alert!

And you just blew right past the post where an American Indian explains that to many Indians (not the ones you cherry pick to justify your agenda), "redskin" is the same as "ni**er."

Or don't you care? Having too much fun making up silly posts to justify using an ethnic slur as the name of a rich man's toy just because?

Well... being from northeast Ohio myself, and still residing in the area, I can say that our sports teams really can depress the hell out of you. It can be tough being a Cleveland fan. Though, we press on and continue to cheer our teams on win or lose.

On a side note...At least the Indians generated some excitement in the 90s after their many years of sub-par play. Not to mention it provided a great and much needed distraction to this region's sports fans when Art Modell took the original Browns franchise to Baltimore, which was and is indeed the bigger draw in Cleveland back then and now. We do love the Tribe, but we're a football town first.

I dunno. Watching Luis Tiant pitch wasn't so bad.

If this is true is CD brass racist for allowing the word "redskin" to be uncensored while "ni**er" gets censored?

I said it's the same to American Indians. I don't know what standards CD applies in these matters.

And as is demonstrated amply on this forum, few people give a damn what American Indians want. That doesn't mean it's OK to use the word.

Do you personally feel "ni**er" should be censored on here? What about "redskin"?

My God, will you people put out the naughty word list already once and for all?! What the hell can I say, think? Please tell us.
Uh, it's always been a racial slur. Just because you somehow missed that detail doesn't change the fact it IS a slur.

Please don't presume it's just whites. I don't care for the name and would like to see it changed but I'm not dogmatic about it. My spouse, however, wants it changed big time. (Both Native) We have more than a few friends who feel the same way.

Yes and yes, but my personal feelings are obviously irrelevant to the site managers. Or most posters, for that matter.

If you believe they both should be censored on here will you censor yourself while using the word "redskin" moving forward?
