This should have been a story on the scale of the moon landing. An American wins the Boston Marathon for the first time in about 30 years. Sure, it was duly reported by the press, but it received nowhere near the coverage of the Donald Sterling story. Google Donald Sterling and you get over 1 trillion hits. Google Meb and you get only 400,000. Why is that?

It was a week ago. I heard all about it. Where were you?
I just think it's a function of lack of interest. The marathon has had its day....much like tennis. No one cares much any loner. Very 70s feel to both sports IMO
Winning an marathon doesn't really affect anyone's life other than the one doing the winning. Nice human interest story, but that's all. Sterling, on the other hand, could have single-highhandedly destroyed the NBA brand, if swift action hadn't been taken. And that is a big deal.

It's because he's black. Is that the answer you were hoping for?

LOL... Man, you guys are all over the map today...
Marathons are like soccer, girls sports and wrestling. Usually only parents and grandparents attend and no one else cares at all.
