Right because that worked so well in the past. That is the reason we have a min wage because businesses have not been trustworthy to pay a decent wage.

Probably never as they aren't really that different from the ignorant criminal dems and its not politically expedient to do so.

Have you been in a coma, how many laws have ever been abolished vs. new ones passed every year?

As the american empire lurches towards collapse.

Oddly your type never complains about greedy government and the money it steals from workers paychecks only to redistribute to its friends.

Min. wage = compulsory unemployment

Right now, Obamacare is a bigger issue, and affects virtually every American in a very negative way. It is far more important than any debate on minimum wage.

A fair minimum wage would be one that held its value over time. In other words, one that reflected both increases in the cost of living and increases in worker productivity. Had the minimum wage done that, it would now be over $20.00 an hour. That means that, in real terms, the minimum wage has decreased over time.

A fair minimum wage is impossible.
Reasons:
[] The money system is regularly debased and thus the buying power of any wage is constantly reduced
[] Increasing the minimum wage only benefits the government, who will gain increased tax revenues (FICA,etc)
[] The political and economic overhead of socialism and bureaucracy further reduce the buying power of any wage
...

On the other hand, if ALL taxes on business and labor were abolished, and thus the penalty upon labor and producers was removed, do you think a recovery would soon follow?

A reasonable minimum wage is about $10/hour, with annual increases tied to inflation (you know, like basically every other civilized country in the world).

Anyone calling for a zero minimum wage is a fool who hasn't studied up on our country's history. Those people aren't worth listening to.

What the heck are you talking about???

A higher minimum wage would only help the government? That's insane! Fine, the government could gain some small increase in tax revenue. But the big winners would be low-wage workers, who would see their buying power increase. The economy as a whole would also benefit, as this increased buying power would stimulate consumer demand.

And how, exactly, is raising the minimum wage "socialism?" How would raising the minimum wage increase bureaucracy? You are not thinking. You're just repeating a lot of conservative/libertarian ideology without really understanding anything.

Exactly. According to the Foxophiles, raising the minimum wage is "so-shul-ism", but subsidizing corporate profits with food stamps and welfare programs is totally cool and free market.
