Really? That's not what I said. Minorities should work 2x as hard, a term I learned here today on this board. Heard of it? Don't go home and sulk because you didn't get that job, get accepted to your college of choice, get a part in the play, whatever. Do something other than be mad that others have privilege.
I do think, since I haven't walked in your shoes, that we can just agree to disagree.
You agree with the notion that minorities should work twice as hard to get half of what whites get - but you see no white advantage or privilege.

You seem to don't have any problem with minorities having to work 2x as hard in order to be equal. That seems to point to a lot of entrenched white privilege in the system.
No, some of us DO more than get mad at others have privilege. We point that out and work to make the opportunities more equal. Actually, it seems that folks who DENY that there's white privilege are angrier - because it confounds their beliefs, and they often oppose efforts to widen the scope of opportunities for all people.
Yeah, whatever. I think that black people are just as capable as anyone else of getting themselves to the DMV once every four years and getting an id card. And I live in an integrated neighborhood (I doubt that you can say the same), so I should know. You think that they're less capable than other races in this respect, but I'm the one with the "racist interpretation."

Wow, look at you. I point out that Asians have a higher household income than whites and you whine and make excuses. And now you turn around and carry on about "white privilege." How inconsistent are you?
And I see that you live in Silicon Valley. Have you guys hired any black or hispanic folks down there yet? Clean up your own backyard before you worry about someone else's. Jesse Jackson to take on Silicon Valley's lack of diversity - Washington Times

And I've pointed out some facts that belie your comments. Like being in a high COL state.
I'm not making excuses but pointing out that people of color do have other obstacles to confront that white people, especially white males in an equivalent position don't have to face. That's pretty much a fact. Seems like YOU'RE upset at that not conforming to your dogma. The fact that a lot of us have to confront that and are still successful is a testament to our efforts, and in no way disputes the existence of white privilege.
Yes, I live in Silicon Valley and it's a pretty darned given that white guys have better access to start up funding than people of color. Or when there's an Asian founder of a company some VCs will demand that they put in a white CEO because the founder isn't "credible enough". Happened with my dad who had 20 years of management experience at IBM and Amdahl when he started up a semiconductor company.
And who is "you guys"? Jackson is lobbying HP as he should be.
The fact that you're telling me to shut up means you don't have much of an argument.

And plenty of white people live in NYC, CA, DC, Boston, Seattle, etc., all of the high col areas. So if Asians are successful it's "a testament to our efforts," but if white people are successful it's due to "privilege?" Whateva.
And "you guys" are you guys in Silicon Valley. You complain about how hard "people of color" have it (which, if you're Asian, does not include you, by the way), but your industry seems to be one of the worst offenders in that regard. What are you doing to fix that?
Of course, Princeton whose assistant professors are 79% white, whose associate professors are 81% white, whose full professors are 84% white, and whose senior staff are 84% white is hostile to white dudes.
Even surrounded by white privilege and dominance a lot of white dudes can't see it.
The general population is approx 80% white. A large percent of black high school kids drop out, further increasing the disproportion. Don't put someone down for working hard. The largest percentage of poor people are white.
Yes, everyone wants to get a leg-up for THEIR people.
It's ok for Women to advocate for Women, Blacks to advocate for Blacks, Filipinos to advocate for Filipinos, etc, etc, etc............fine with me, human nature.
But let a White guy advocate for what he sees as people who are most like himself in gender and race............oh my, let the knives come out.
Liberals/Democrats hatred for the while male knows no bounds.
Yes, and when you get out of school you will fully understand how this is an integral part of the Democratic Party platform.
Obama is the leader of the "white Anglo Saxon males are evil" movement.
