The objective of these threads accusing African Americans in sports of racism is pretty telling. All designed to take attention off of Sterling. Weak.
For some it may be but the NBA set a precedent here so it's fair to bring other cases up.
The biggest story not covered...or barely covered...is the Shaq issue. Like another poster reported: kids started copying Shaq's Instagram in which he made fun of a disabled man.
That just hits anyone with a heart really hard. Forget race for a second...Sterling, Jay-Z, Shaq, LJ, the Orlando owner...all of them are going to be just fine whether or not they get nailed on their so-called indiscretions. That disabled dude...damn...that's just cold. You gotta feel for him.

Or you could be trying to take attention off of Jay-Z. Blacks can be racists too, and the point of this thread seems to point out the double standard. I'm sorry if that upsets you for some reason.
But I realize that Sterling is still an idiot for saying what he did, and he's a lot more influential to the Clippers than Jay-Z is to the Nets. So it isn't exactly the same situation. But Jay-Z is still an idiot for wearing that garbage when he's in a situation where he's so easily noticed, and many people associate him with the Nets.

No, I don't think anyone is trying to take attention off of Sterling
I think people are just contrasting Sterling with other NBA racists, who happen to be black. They're doing this to point out the hypocritical double-standards.
In fact you could argue that what Jay-Z's little medallion stands for is far more severe than Sterling's comments, because it is a black supremacist group.
And somehow Jay Z is a welcome guest at the White house......One needs to look no further to see why there are serious race issues in this country and guess where it starts???
Jay-Z causes outrage by wearing gaudy medallion of 'Five Percent Nation' group who believe whites are 'wicked and weak'
The Brooklyn-born rapper wore a medallion representing the Five Percent Nation at a Nets game last week
One of the main tenets of the Nation of Islam offshoot is that white people are 'weak and wicked' and that black men hold the power of God
When asked if the medallion holds any importance to him, Jay-Z said: 'A little bit'
Jay-Z was spotted wearing the nation's symbol last year while giving radio interviews for his new album, Magna Carta Holy Grail
A representative for the Five-Percenters said Jay-Z is not an active member and shouldn't be wearing regalia unless he subscribes to their beliefs
He's allowed to be a racist bigot, who thinks his race is superior to all others, because he is not white. Plain and simple.
