There are too many variations to capture with a single question. And this poll's perspective seems especially one sided.
The government shouldn't be in the business of marriage. Marriage should be considered a religious choice, and the government should be protecting our constitutional freedoms.
The God who created us knows better than us. God is against gay marriage and against any homosexual act. It is a lie and that attraction for the opposite sex is the lie.. it is a lust spirit ... It is unnatural.. Gay people are not different than anyone else, they just believe the lie and are following it.
We as people can fall into all kinds of things that are wrong and homosexuality is wrong. A man can love a man , but if they cross the line into sexual activity it is wrong . Same for a woman, A woman can love another woman but when it goes into the lust for one another into the unnatural it is wrong . Many people who are not Christians also agree it is wrong for two same sex people to have a sexual relationship. Unbelievers too have a moral system and also know it is wrong.
I have always been pro-marriage: my parents raised me right. However, I am growing more disenfranchised with the concept of marriage altogether. If not for the legal rights it would afford me regarding immigration status and tax benefits, I would likely not care one iota to get a piece of paper. Gay couples have managed to stay in committed relationships for decades against great odds without a piece of paper and straight couples have shown through divorce that the piece of paper doesn't mean a damn thing EXCEPT for a legal relationship.
I previously opposed gay marriage until 2011. However, after thinking over all of the arguments, and after acquiring a better knowledge of logic, logical principles, and logical fallacies, I changed my mind and became convinced that the pro-gay marriage arguments are the superior ones.
I don't know who your guys are, but the founders supported anti-sodomy laws. Your views are far more liberal.
The punishment for sodomy used to be death, but Thomas Jefferson thought it was too much, so he proposed it be changed to castration.
