Shows wealth disparity in the us much higher than in most of the world including Canada or Sweden.
Those data are old. Credit-Suisse which is really considered the de-facto standard (by the UN), CS's numbers are from 2013.

So download the 2013 report, and go to page 83 to see the table.

I would agree with you, but for two problems: 1- I don't think "middle class" is minimum $ 100,000 or over for every individual. That would be at least $ 200,000 for a family. 2- wouldn't the explosion of US millionaires skew this number even further?

But honestly, I do not really know if "middle class" can be defined by numbers, and be widely accepted as a standard definition.

From your link

http://economics.uwo.ca/news/davies_...isse_oct12.pdf

Although Canada’s macroeconomic performance has surpassed the USA’s over the last few years, at USD 227,700 wealth per adult in Canada is 13% lower than it is in the USA (USD 262,400). Canada is similar to the USA in that more than half of its household wealth is held in financial assets. Wealth here is more equally distributed than in the USA, which is reflected in the much higher median wealth of USD 81,600 compared with 38,800 for the USA. Compared to the USA, Canada has both a smaller percentage of people with less than USD 10,000 and a larger percentage with wealth above USD 100,000. It has 842,000 millionaires, and accounts for 3% of the top 1% of global wealth holders, despite having only 0.5% of the world’s population.

Canadian middle class is doing much better than American and it's much bigger percentage wise. There is also less poor in Canada. I guess being progressive and liberal doesn't preclude financial success. That's all. Well played, Canada. Our conservatives should take notice.

If you look a this Graph (Canada GDP Growth Rate | Actual Value | Historical Data | Forecast) Canada's growth of the last 25 years has never been over 2%. On the other hand, Canada's has not been immune to economic recessions -- early 90s and 2008 crash.

And its projections for the foreseeable future are not any better. Meanwhile their social costs are rising fast.

This can't be good for the Canadian "middle class".

Sorry, the keyword is "Databook" from Credit Suisse Global Wealth. It's a 155 page report. And it's data is from 2010, not 2013.
