For 90% of the population sure, but the other 10% not so much. I've seriously thought about moving to Toronto, but can't justify paying more in taxes. If I ever decide to have kids Canada might be a worthwhile pursuit simply due to the education system and child support laws.
Ah, i see. You meant the US population.
In any case, you don't have to move to Toronto proper, which is expensive. There are many inexpensive places you can live. I'm renting a house for a song, but you may not want to live in French milieu, even if it is a party town.
Heard of the French/Indian war. You folks got sent north. Good try.
In today's world we could run you out in a day or so.
You mean the war that was between the Brits, their colonies, and France? As I recall the British invaded Canada, but that was before the USA was founded. Also, I think the war ceased due to funds with everybody claiming victory.

I need to be near a financial market, so Toronto/suburbs is my only real option.

Which is a big part of WHY we're in debt and they're NOT.
It's expensive being the "toughest dude in the neighborhood".
Sounds like you like being in debt though - at least when it comes to throwing your weight around.
I'll remember that the next time you complain about the deficit.
