SC Couple Who Killed Sex Offender Act out in Court - ABC News

A couple who carried out a plan to kill a registered sex offender and his wife showed little remorse when they were sentenced to life in prison Tuesday, with one shouting: "That's what child molesters get!"
Initially, Jeremy and Christine Moody apologized to the judge and asked for a 30-year sentence so they could see their children and grow old together. But after Union County Judge Lee Alford handed down the maximum punishment, they shared a brief kiss and then showed how they really felt.

"See you perverts later," Jeremy Moody shouted at Charles Parker's family as he walked out of court. "That's what child molesters get."

And as Christine Moody walked in shackles to a police car outside of the courthouse, she told reporters: "Killing that pedophile was the best day of my life."

----

I remember getting a flier on my door with a man's face, his level of sex offense and his address. He moved in one block from our old house. I remember never forgetting every time I drove by that house or rode my bike past it. It was disturbing because it was an upscale neighborhood.

What do people think about sex offenders address being made public in this manner? Does it increase the potential for vigilante behavior? Do they deserve what they get, or once they serve their time are their dues paid?

We should do what we have done in the past, and what every other civilized country in the world does. Let the police monitor them. It is not our job to. They do their time, and then they reenter society. If they prove they can't be a civilized person, then off to prison they go

At first I was "well if someone molested MY kid I'd do the same!"

Then I read the article. WTH? They were going to kill the guy-along with anyone who just happened to be in the house? He hadnt done anything to anyone they knew, and they claimed to have killed others, and....well the list goes on and on.

yup, they're a menace to people everywhere.

Sex offender registries are a terrible idea. No evidence exists that they make the public any safer. All they do is stoke needless fear, and make the lives of people on sex offender registries impossible.

Take a good, hard look at your local sex offender registry sometime. I bet you'll be surprised how many people on it are 18 year olds who got busted for having consensual sex with their 15 year old significant others. Yes, that is illegal. But it is not exactly the sort of horrendous crime sex offender registries were supposed to guard the public against.

It's extremely stupid to do this to only one group of offenders.

I'm a childless male. Being the victim of sex offense is highly unlikely for me. I'd much rather know where people who have been cited for disturbing the peace live.

Then I can avoid those locations because I hate noise.

To make room for a kid caught with a roach while walking down the street.

These two would have killed other people. They were white supremacist nutcases.

Jeremy Moody and Christine Moody face more charges in killings | GoUpstate.com

"Jeremy Moody has a prominent "skinhead" tattoo across his throat, along with the words "white power" tattooed on the top of his bald head. He also has an eagle and swastika, "Made in America" and other tattooed symbols associated with skinheads."

I would investigate the church that let this guy and his wife be members.

If we are gonna publicly out sex offenders like this, it had to be only people who have actually done harm, not somebody who took a drunken whiz near a playground at 2 am
